 IT Technician in the Department of Politics and Public Administration (Ref.: 508463) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)

 Applicants   should   have   a   Bachelor’s   degree   in   Computer   Science/Computer Engineering/Software Engineering or related disciplines, with at least 2 years of relevant work experience.  They should have good skills in various operating system environments including Windows and Linux; solid experience in system administration, installation and maintenance of Windows workstation, video conferencing (e.g. Zoom, Microsoft Teams) and network technologies; good knowledge of web development, (e.g. HTML, MySQL, jQuery, PHP, CSS, Cakephp and Codeigniter); and experience in computer and equipment management, and providing in-house applications end- user support.  They should also have good problem-solving skills, communication skills, and able to work under tight schedules.

 The appointee will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the entire IT infrastructure, server administration, IT security, IT procurement and provision of quality IT services for the Department. He/She will provide technical support; troubleshooting and maintenance of application software and computing facilities; conduct website management; and perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
