“What do you think you can contribute to the society and the world?” This was a question challenged by the trainers in the leadership training that I attended in May in Beijing.
It was my greatest honor to be awarded as one of the eight Goldman Sachs Global Leader in the regional ceremony held in Beijing on 15/5-17/5. The program was organized by the Goldman Sachs Foundation and the Institute of International Education since 2001 to award 150 students each year from 19 countries over the world. It aims to identify students who demonstrate academic excellence and leadership potential and provide them with unique opportunities for leadership development.
During my stay in Beijing, series of leadership training was conducted. That was an invaluable experience for me to meet student leaders from renowned universities in China and to exchange ideas with students of different background. I was thankful that I was further awarded an all-expense-paid trip to represent HK at the Global Leadership Institute in New York City this coming July. There, we will be given chance to participate in different trainings and seminars on timely international issues, consult with renowned leaders in the public and private sectors and build ties with global leaders from the world. I am really looking forward to the trip and I hope that I would be further inspired to take up the role as a global leader. Last but not least, I would like to thank Dr. Peter Cheung and Dr.Danny Lam for their nomination and generous support in the application process.
