On 17th November 2006, the Public and Public Administration Association joined forces with the Chinese University of Hong Kong Society of the Department of Government and Public Administration to organize the 31st Intervarsity Political Science Debate at Rayson Huang Theatre, HKU. It was well attended by university community and secondary school students.
The motion of the competition was “The HKSAR Government should delegate more powers to the District Councils”. The HKU Cantonese Debate Team on the affirmative side was finally judged overall champion. Its captain, Kevin IP, BSocSc (Gov&Laws II), was awarded the Best Debater Prize.
