Going through keen competition, Benson Wong (our current PhD student) successfully got the Contemporary China Fellowship offered by the Centre for Contemporary China (當代中國研究中心), an inter-university research consortium at National Tsing Hua University of Taiwan. Benson will be staying in the Center of the Contemporary China from September 2006 to March 2007.
The Fellowship includes a stipend, a passage, and a six-month residence at the NTHU. The Fellows (a total of six international young scholars) are offered the precious opportunity to attend advanced seminars on China and cross-Strait relations, join field trips to Mainland China, use NTHU’s extensive library collections, and take advantage of the university’s superb location within one of the world’s most important centers of high-tech industry — Hsin-Chu Science Park. At the end of the visit, Fellows will present their research results at a mini-conference for collaboration and exchange.
Our great congratulations go to Benson, and we wish him a fruitful and productive stay at the NTHU!
