Yvonne Chiu has received a fellowship award from the Institute for Advanced Study (IAS), Princeton University for 2013 to 2014. During her residency at IAS, she will be working on a book manuscript that argues that modern warfare is a cooperative enterprise, during fighting and in its use as a tool for conflict resolution. It explores the history, development, and contemporary nature of that cooperation, which is especially important for militaries increasingly confronted by non-cooperative forms of warfare.
